New Resident Finance Committee Members Announced
November 14, 2011
The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Gail Reese and Warren Stout to the Sun City Festival Community Finance Committee, effective November 1, 2011.
Gail and Warren join Gil Korito as the resident members of the committee, which assists the Board of Directors in preparing the Association budget; investigates financial options for the Association; and reviews the Association's monthly financial statements, audits and investment programs. Gail and Warren will serve two-year terms on the committee.
The selection process was a very difficult one as many eminently qualified community members came forward to offer their talents to the committee. The Board would like to thank all who applied.

Bicycle Awareness
Drivers of all types of vehicles, including golf carts, need to stay aware of bicyclists riding on the streets of Festival Ranch. Bicyclists should know the rules of the road and ride in single file on the right side of the road, not side-by-side so that drivers may pass. Bicyclists must ride on the roads and stay off sidewalks.

Display of the United States Flag
There is no absolute prohibition in federal law on flying the flag twenty-four hours a day. The Flag Code states: "It is the universal custom to display the flag only from sunrise to sunset on buildings and on stationary flagstaffs in the open. However, when a patriotic effect is desired, the flag may be displayed 24 hours a day if properly illuminated during hours of darkness." So, please be sure sure to illuminate your flag if it is flying after sunset.
We are alerted by the government when the flag should be flown at half-staff, and it will be flown at half-staff on Sunday, September 11 in memory of those who lost their lives that day.

Fire At The Indigo Grille
In the early morning hours of Friday, August 19, there was a small fire in the receiving and storage yard outside the Indigo Grille. The Buckeye Fire Department reacted swiftly and extinguished the fire, the origin of which is still being looked in to. There was some minor property damage, and the Community Manager, working with the Clubhouse Manager, has begun the process of filing an insurance claim and managing the repair/replacement of damaged or destroyed equipment. There was no damage sustained inside the Indigo Grille, and our restaurant remained open and continues to serve guests the same high quality, high value food items we have come to enjoy!
