Sage Center Parking Lot Repair and Maintenance
Aug. 23, 2010
On September 7 and 8, the Community Association will be sealing the asphalt in the Sage Center Parking Lot, restriping the parking slots, repainting the Handicap Parking slots, and repainting all of the curbs. The Del Webb Sales team will be accomplishing this same work in their parking lot coincident with our efforts.
On Tuesday, September 7, the western-most portion of the Sage Center lot, in front of the entrance to the Copper Canyon Golf Club and Indigo Grille will be closed. Also on September 7, the eastern-most portion of the Sage Center lot, in front of the Putting Green and Horseshoe Pits, will also be closed for this work. Access to the Sage Center, the Indigo Grille and the Golf Club will be through the main entry to the Sage Center, directly across from 264th Drive. In the Sales Center Parking Lot, the lower half will be open for traffic while the portion closest to the Sales Center entry will be closed.
On Wednesday, September 8, the areas closed the previous day will be open, with the center section of the Sage Center lot closed, and the lower portion of the Sales Center lot also closed.
The work is scheduled to be completed Wednesday evening, with the entire lot being open for use again on Thursday morning.
We appreciate your patience as we complete this important periodic maintenance requirement!
Convenience Store Update
Pulte Homes representatives continue to work behind the scenes to assist in the reopening of the convenience store and gas station. The most recent update we have, which was shared at both the Chat With the Board in June and the Quarterly Board of Directors meeting in July, is that there are a number of potential owners and/or operators who have begun meeting with the current owner of the property in an effort to reach an agreement. It is certainly good news that discussions are ensuing, but the “who, what, when” of those discussions are private and cannot be shared with the public. There must be an agreement in place before any details can be divulged. The Community Association will continue to keep our residents apprised of developments as they occur.
Facility Trespassing Issue
A few of our residents have reported that there have been young adults using the Village Center sports courts in the evening. Last week after the Board Meeting, Bruce happened to run into them and confronted them, verified that they are not residents or guests and explained to them that they are trespassing and are not allowed to use these facilities. While they departed the area on that occasion, we have received feedback that they continue to trespass. We contacted the Buckeye Police Department and they have agreed to patrol the area in the evening and confront anyone who cannot prove that they are a resident or guest of Sun City Festival. In addition, the outdoor lighting to the volleyball court area has been disconnected to increase the difficulty of anyone using this area in the evening. Our staff will continue to monitor the facilities and take action as necessary. While this situation persists, if you desire to use the volleyball court in the evening, please let Staff know so that arrangements can be made to restore power to the lighting.
Festival Ranch - Cox Agreement
The Festival Ranch Community has a bulk service agreement in place with Cox Communications to provide basic service to each of our residents at a substantial savings over the regular price of this service. The current “street” price for Cox Basic Limited service is $21.95, but through the Community Association... View the entire article
