Citizens On Patrol Program
A Citizens On Patrol Program was started in conjunction with The Town of Buckeye, Sun City Festival Community Association and Festival Foothills Community Association with a mission to observe and report. To stay up to date on this program, go to the Citizens On Patrol webpage.
This program is staffed with resident volunteers.
Volunteers will be patrolling the communities as two-person teams in a former patrol car vividly marked as a volunteer vehicle. The volunteer vehicle will have yellow emergency lights to differentiate it from a police vehicle. There will be access to both cell phones for non-emergency communications and a police radio for emergencies. Volunteers are not armed.
Volunteers are trained in observation skills, the process to report incidents, driving, and CPR. Volunteers will not make traffic stops, will not answer calls for service, and will not confront anyone. Their mission is to observe and report.
