Good Afternoon Sun City Festival Residents,
I would like to share a few updates and reminders for our community that I feel are important for you to be aware of. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know by replying to this email or calling 928-252-2103.
Sun Valley Parkway Upcoming Closure: I have received several emails and calls about the upcoming closure on SVP this coming weekend. I have reached out to Maricopa County Department of Transportation and found out that on March 10th and 11th, the Sun valley parkway will be closed from Desert Oasis Boulevard to the Tartesso community near Interstate 10 from 7 am to 11 am for a special event - Senior Olympics. This closure will not affect our residents heading eastbound into Surprise. If I receive additional information, I will send out another communication.
Neighborhood Representatives: Thank you to all the residents who have applied for our neighborhood representative positions. I do still have a few openings that I am really hoping I can get filled. If you are able to volunteer for this position, please let me know. The neighborhood representatives meet quarterly with the Board ofDirectors to discuss concerns and obtain answers from questions posed by their constituents in their individual neighborhoods. If you live in one of the neighborhoods named below, please consider applying for this position so your neighborhood is represented.
- Mountain Ridge
- Canyon Trail
- Vista Ridge
- Desert Basin
- Desert Bloom
- Desert Peak
Spring Break: Spring Break has arrived at Sun City Festival. Many of our residents will have visitors enjoying our beautiful community. To speed up the check-in process at the fitness desk, we have added an additional computer for the self-service scanner. In addition, we will now have two staff members assisting with purchasing guest passes, fitness classes, personal training and spa services. We also ask that pool furniture be “first come, first served” and that no seats be “saved” by placing towels or other personal items on otherwise unused pool furniture. I also want to remind everyone to be aware of our pool rules, which were sent out in a reminder email last week. Our entire team will be working hard to make sure you and your visitors have a great experience at the Sage Center.
Garage Sale – Our community-wide garage sale is this Saturday from 8a m to 1 pm. All Garage Sales will be at our residents’homes. If you would like to participate in this sale, please contact MemberServices with your address to be included on the list that will be distributed.
Parking at the Wood Shop and Crafts Studio – Our golf cart operators are reminded to first utilize the golf cart parking slots provided at this amenity before using the vehicle parking slots. This week we are anticipating additional cars due to an introduction class being offered.
I hope everyone has a great week and I will see you at the Farmers Market this Thursday!
